This course is intended as an introduction to the methods and scientific background of the field of human-computer interaction – in particular, user interface design and evaluation.

Intended Students
The course is part of the study programs of Media Informatics and Educational Technology but it is also open to interested students of Computer Science, Psychology, and other areas.
Credit Points
The course counts for 9 credit points.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites beyond an ability to read about 30 pages a week in Englsh and to understand lectures given in English. In particular, the practical exercises will not require programming skills.
Course Languages
The assigned literature, the course slides, the lectures, and the instructions for student work will be in English.
Students can make their own written and discussion contributions in German or in English.
